On the Role of Traditional Morality in Constructing Ethical Community in Rural Areas

Abstract: Rural community construction in new period is an important content which is vital to national rejuvenation. Nowadays, in the rapid development of market economy, new rural community construction should pay attention not only to economic development but also moral construction. Constructing rural ethical community is an irresistable trend. In this process, Chinese traditional morality, which has its typical contents of benevolence, righteousness, courtesy, wisdom and trust and loyalty and filial piety with etiquette sense of shame plays an important role in cultivating and forming public morality, professional ethics and family virtues in rural communities.
