THE MAIN CONTENT OF THE BOOK
I. Research Purposes
Currently，Guangdong is in the well-off-type stage and in face of the mission of constructing socialist harmonious society. Situated near the south coast and taking the lead in the whole country in reform and opening to the world，Guangzhou city，the cen-tre of Guangdong province，which will be honoured to host the 16 th Asian Games，ought to lead in further developing sports associations with requirements of a broad per-spective，new way of thinking and high threshold. According to such a general historic task and objective，our project group has designed a special research on the operating mode for the construction of sports association substantiation in well-off society focused on the reform in Guangzhou sports associations.
II. Research Methods and Total Workload
In the stage of a year’s investigation and preparation，a relatively large quantity of work was accomplished for the research steps with literature review for the beginning and by giving priority to the quantified surveys：communicating with and mobilizing members of various sports associations to receive over 1，000 person-times of investi-gations；inviting scholars and specialists in organization and holding 4 symposia；requi-ring PE experts，sports association cadres，senior mass-sports organizers to partake in consultation concerning the project for nearly 200 person-times；gathering and consult-ing over 200 entries from Chinese and foreign books and documents；collecting over 38，000 original data through 3 kinds of questionnaires，with as many as over 100，000 da-ta derived after a basic statistic process. 30 tables and 18 charts are listed in the present thesis.
Put forward in the first phase of this project were the basic orientation and assump-tion for the promotion of operational mode to substantiate Guangzhou City individual sports associations classifiedly in batches，and studied out was the integral research in the systematic framework mode for substantiation construction. During the phase of com-posing the thesis，written were 13 sub-topics and a general concluding report in 180，000 words. The second stage of the project was adapting the general reports into mono-graphs according to volumes，chapters and sections. Besides，new contents were sup-plemented to Volume 1“Introduction”and Volume 5 the“Correlative Environment to Implement Sports Association Substantiation Construction”，strengthening and promo-ting the theoretic analyses with theories of systematic science and so on.
III. Investigating results
1. By citing authorities，and inquiring deeply into and consulting thoroughly origi-nal matrix science works and great modern science works（e. g. organizational behav-iouristics，organizational sociology，city sociology，etc.）from the angles of 6 subjects and arguments（theories of government selection，corresponding image，summarized key elements，multidisciplinary scientific foundation and combined evolution，as well as ethnology），the sources of the essence of hypostatization of sports associations are traced to，the connotation in substantiation is ascertained，and their developing sequences are grasped.
2. It is systematically and comprehensively proposed that the 6 aspects for the train of thought for sports association hypostatization construction in our city at present lie in：human-orientation with members as the principal part，harmony-aimed pragmatical-ization for regulations，planned-organization-supported management integration，fa-cility-based substance strength，fund -backed economic substantiation，and actual activity effect rooted in activities.
3. Summarized and extracted are 5“Guangzhou characteristics”in Guangzhou as-sociation construction in the new period：（1）the courage to take the lead in undertak-ing the weighty responsibilities to hold major competitions；（2）method reform and orig-ination of cultural sports trademarks；（3）pursuit of multiform and diversified work pat-terns，and establishment of associations’principal status in nationwide body-building；（4）leading in making profits for the country and associations；（5）perfecting organiza-tion，enlarging service range and creating a good sports atmosphere in welcoming the A-siad.
4. The first investigation in China’s sports circles is undertaken，and it is sug-gested that it should be taken as one of the evaluation measures for association achieve-ments.
5. Scientifically analysed with dialectical materialist methodology are contradictions and existent problems influencing the harmonious sports association development in our city in the current transitional period，and elaborated are 10 relationships in the con-struction.
IV. Research Conclusions
On the basis of the above 5 creative investigation results，the following 4 innovative research conclusions are further summarized and extracted in the present research：
1. After a quanlitive survey and qualitative analysis，drawn up is the basic orienta-tion for individual sports association hypostatization operational mode；sketched out are the batched classified hypostatization reform processes：the first batch（kind）is part of the non - Olympic - event associations with ready conditions，the comprehensive strength at the level of X+1～2 S in Guangzhou and fewer systematic obstacles；the sec-ond batch is the ones in transition to substantiation，aiming at the realisation of semi-substantiation on condition of vitality and potential，and with integral strength basically at the level of X ± S/2；the third batch is those whose comprehensive strength is at the medium or low level（X-1～2 S），and which will transit to substantiation when fully prepared.
2. Integrally researched by means of the“hierarchic primary cause”is the Guang-zhou individual sports association substantiated construction modes，and put forward are the primary causes and entries of“detection criteria”，“implementation measures”op-timally selected and determined by experts，amounting to 90 entries in 4 gradations，which can be taken as index standards for Guangzhou City individual sports association hypostatization construction，and the whole set of whose mode framework（an orienta-tion，6 construction goals，12 influential factors，24 detection criteria and 48 implemen-tation measures）can provide policy-decision reference for various associations.
3. Mapped out are income index and accumulation index for Guangzhou sports as-sociation economy，and put forward are the long-lasting mechanism for economic in-come and accumulation.
4. Earliest proposed in China is a tendency chart of associations’profit making and government fund appropriation proportion，establishing a benchmark for hypostatiza-tion construction of Guangzhou sports associations.
5. In the major social background of the coming 16 th Asian Games，in order to consolidate and accelerate sports association substantiation construction，suggested are significant measures for the establishment of correlative environment，for example，hu-manistic community environment，law environment，cultural environment of Guangzhou Asian Games，etc. besides the major economic environment.
